The Nextep Risk Department offers more than just insurance coverage. Our staff of degreed, certified professionals provides our clients with the tools and resources necessary to protect their employees, minimize property loss, and improve their organization’s overall efficiency and productivity.
There is a substantial amount of hidden cost associated with a work related injury. In fact, the total loss to your organization is more than four times the cost of the medical expenses when you consider the loss of an experienced employee, the cost of a replacement employee, and the loss of quality and production.
Nextep has an aggressive claims management program that can reduce your workers’ compensation losses by 20%. Our Risk Department has licensed workers’ compensation adjusters that manage each claim to ensure the effective implementation of incident investigation techniques, post-event drug testing, and tenacious return-to-work methods.
Nextep is workers’ compensation certified through The Certification Institute for meeting “Best Practice Techniques” in the area of loss prevention and claims management. This certification process was developed through the cooperative efforts of workers’ compensation insurance companies with the support of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO).
Nextep has the ability to manage multiple lines of insurance for our clients. On your behalf, Nextep will make your payments, manage your renewals, and broker your accounts to ensure your organization is receiving the best possible rates.
Nextep has safety professionals on staff with over 50 years of combined experience that can assist your organization with standards interpretation. We can provide a simulated OSHA visit that includes OSHA 300 logs, program evaluation, and a comprehensive safety walk-through that assesses employee, property and equipment compliance.
What sets Nextep apart from its competitors is the ability to simplify the most complex standards while offering clear and easy ways to understand countermeasures that will minimize your potential for OSHA citations.
Ninety-four percent (94%) of all accidents are caused by employee error rather than unsafe conditions. To combat the potential for unsafe actions (at-risk behaviors), we can assist your organization in setting appropriate expectations by developing and implementing written and communicated procedures, processes, and programs, such as:
| Hazardous Communication | Bloodborne Pathogen |
| Fleet Safety Program | Lockout Tagout (LOTO) |
| Drug Free Workplace Policy | Emergency Action Plan (EAP) |
| Fire Protection | Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) |
| Safety Auditing | Workplace Violence |
| Powered Industrial Lift Truck | Hearing Conservation |
Nextep offers a variety of safety training methods that can dramatically reduce on-the-job injuries and property damage. Our Risk Department offers both on-site safety training and interactive on-line safety training that can electronically track completion and scoring.
Nextep offers competitive, comprehensive group workers’ compensation coverage through an “A” rated carrier. This one-million dollar policy is offered with additional services such as safety training, insurance policy management, and safety program development.
Unlike typical workers’ compensation coverage, Nextep does not require your organization to provide up-front premium payment. In addition, many carriers require a minimum of 20% down and for the entire policy to be paid within the first nine months of a twelve-month policy. We offer a simple “pay as you go” payment plan.
Our Risk Department works in conjunction with our Human Resources Department to manage your unemployment claims and to assist your organization during all phases of the unemployment process. We handle all aspects of unemployment administration ranging from employment inquiries to phone hearings.
Nextep’s Human Resources Department can help lower your employee turnover rate and increase productivity by offering customized Employee Handbooks along with other customizable documents, such as Employee Satisfaction Surveys and Annual Performance Reviews. Nextep also offers an Employee Separation Guide, which provides detailed direction on how to handle particular types of employee separations.
