Brian Fayak of Nextep in Oklahoma Will Serve in Leadership Role for National Trade Group

Brian Fayak, President and CEO of Nextep, Inc., Norman, Okla., will serve in 2008 as Secretary on the Board of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). The association represents the $53 billion PEO industry, which delivers Fortune 500 employee benefits and human resources expertise to America’s small and mid-sized businesses.

Fayak was elected to the one-year term by a vote of the national membership during NAPEO’s annual conference October 22-24 in Chicago. Nearly 800 PEO leaders and vendors participated in the conference and trade show, which is the largest gathering in the PEO industry.

“I am honored to serve in this important role with NAPEO,” Fayak said. “The association does important work building industry consensus on strategic activities to benefit all PEOs in the marketplace. I look forward to strengthening the image of the industry with its consumers and those who regulate our industry. With leadership from NAPEO, we can continue to build PEOs’ strength and contribution to the marketplace.”

Fayak founded Nextep in 1997 and led the company to becoming an accredited PEO, achieving the highest standards for PEOs. Prior to the formation of Nextep, he held key management positions for Gevity HR with regional responsibility for Gevity’s Texas markets. Under his leadership, Nextep has earned such honors as the 2007 Compass Award, which is awarded annually to companies that are committed to promoting Oklahoma values of integrity in the workplace. Nextep has also been named “The Best Place to Work in Oklahoma” two years in a row.
